Waconia Choirs is a group of curriculum and extra-curricular choirs that include Waconia High School's Power Company of Show Choirs, Power Company, The Current, Illuminations, Shockwave and The Pulse. It also includes The Waconia High School Chamber Choir, and the spectacular Show Choir event, Star Power.

Evan R. Jones has a bachelor’s degree in Vocal and Classroom Music Education (K-12) from the University of Northwestern- Saint Paul. Currently, he teaches choir and general music classes at Waconia Middle School in Waconia, MN. He is the director of  “The Pulse” and “Shockwave” Show Choirs and the Microwatt Show Band.

Mr. Jones has vocally directed and choreographed for schools’ choir, show choir, musical, and opera programs at the middle, high, and collegiate levels. He acts as an adjudicator for solo and ensemble and large group festivals and show choir competitions. In the summer, Mr. Jones enjoys directing the “Shooting Stars” and Rising Stars “music camps in Waconia and is the co-founder of the show choir camp at the University of Northwestern-Saint Paul. He has taught nationally and internationally for the ACSI Honor Choir Festivals in Budapest, Hungary, and Prague, Czech Republic, combining international high school students from all over the world. Mr. Jones and his wife Christy reside in the Minneapolis area and are thankful to share the blessings of faith and music together in their home.
