Waconia Choirs is a group of curriculum and extra-curricular choirs that include Waconia High School's Power Company of Show Choirs, Power Company, The Current, Illuminations, Shockwave and The Pulse. It also includes The Waconia High School Chamber Choir, and the spectacular Show Choir event, Star Power.

2026 Star Power Information

Welcome to Star Power 2027!

Star Power 2027, one of the premiere high school show choir events in the Midwest, will be held at Waconia High School on Saturday, Feb. 13th. Last year’s annual competition featured performances by more than 20 choirs hailing from Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, South Dakota, and Nebraska.

The Competition Classes

Open Class (Varsity level groups with a 9-12 school population over 600 students)
Class A (Varsity level groups with a 9-12 school population under 600 students)
Prep Class is for prep or JV groups *Any group may choose to compete in the Open Class.

OUR JUDGES(2026)

Open Class: Bob Anderson, Adam Bassak, Doran Johnson, Brooke Smolder, Mark Traynor Quamme, and Steve Woodin.

Middle School : Evan Jones, Tanner Larson, Sue Snorek, and Manny Treichel.

We are very proud of our diverse judges, who bring a wide range of knowledge and expertise from the entertainment, education, and show choir industries.

Admission/Programs

All performers should have their hands stamped before they leave the bus. If Performing members arrive separate from the bus, they will need to have their hand stamped at the East Entrance.
Director’s spouses will be admitted as our guests. Please ask your student hosts for a wristband.
Each Performing group will receive 5 complimentary all-day wristbands.
Admission prices will be:
- All Day Adult Pass (Age 18-55) – $20.00
- All Day Student Pass (Age 6-18) – $10.00
- All Day Senior Pass (Age 55+) – $15.00
- Kids under 6 year Free
We will not be accepting checks for admissions or food.
The auditorium will be completely cleared after the Awards Ceremony at the end of the afternoon session.
