Daniel Greco is a Twin Cities based singer, actor, educator, clinician, worship leader, and songwriter whose varied platforms and versatility shape the foundation for teaching and creative output. He holds an M.M. in Musical Theater Performance & Advanced Certificate in Vocal Pedagogy from NYU and earned his B.M. in Vocal Performance at St. Olaf College. At NYU he was privileged to study under Dr. Brian Gill and Jeremy Aye who were both students of Barbara Doscher. He was also a 2017 participant of Nautilus Music Theater’s Wesley Balk Institute.
Daniel has sung and often soloed with many distinguished ensembles including the St. Olaf Choir, VocalEssence Ensemble Singers, and Fifth Ave Presbyterian Chamber Choir (NYC). As a professional vocalist Daniel’s experiences run the gamut of musical styles. Daniel has been a soloist for oratorio, presented art song recitals, performed with his band at the Icehouse, sung back up for Ben Folds, and is frequently hired for various services and concerts. Local stage credits include projects with Nautilus Music-Theater, Minnesota Opera, Theater Latté Da, Yellow Tree Theater, Minneapolis Musical Theater, and Shoot The Glass Theater. You can hear Daniel singing the title role on the award winning concept album Van Winkle: A Folk Musical and as a featured vocalist on Here I Stand a hip-hop album by Minneapolis artist Andy Pokel.
Equal parts performer and pedagogue, Daniel has devoted much of his professional life to developing the craft of vocal instruction. In addition to giving master classes and voice clinics throughout the NE and Midwest regions, he has also served as guest instructor at Grinnell College, as voice coach in residence for Twin Cities choral ensemble Magnum Chorum, and on the voice faculties of NYU Steinhardt, St. Olaf College, and McNally Smith College of Music. Daniel’s current and former students include recording artists, professional actors, and opera singers and have performed at the Ordway, Icehouse, Fine Line Music Cafe, and 7th St Entry.
On a more personal note, Daniel is a coffee snob. He loves to eat meat, cheese, and carbs. He can often be found at the gym trying to work off the meat, cheese, and carbs. He tries to visit his family who live in Sweden and Spain as much as possible and now hopes to add a trip to the Middle East to visit his sister who has recently moved to Beirut.
